AVANCE, a leader in parent-child education, brings together early childhood education experts to share innovative ways of helping children succeed in school.
In celebration of serving almost one million families since 1973, AVANCE is hosting their 1st Annual Parent-Child Education Conference (PCEC) on April 18 and 19, 2012 at the St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio, TX.? The conference will present innovative information on early childhood education (ECE) and family support programs that improve the quality of life for families in need.
Richard J. Noriega, AVANCE President and CEO, describes the conference as being about ?innovations and improving the quality of early childhood education programs nationwide.? Early intervention programs, especially those that focus on the parent, have the power to stop the cycle of poverty, improve our economy, our national security, and can help get us back on track to being a world leader in education.?
The topics for breakout sessions include the AVANCE model, best practices in ECE, fostering a community of change and implementing multicultural education.? Dr. James Kirylo, Professor of Education at Southeastern Louisiana and author of Paulo Freire: The Man from Recife, will deliver the Keynote Speech at this year?s event and participate in a meet and greet during his book signing.? Conference attendees will hear testimony from a panel of former AVANCE program graduates and enjoy the harmonies of the Hawthorne Academy Children?s Choir and other musical guests.
Registration fees start at $175, with a student discounted rate of $75.? AVANCE is still accepting proposals for conference presentations during breakout sessions, soliciting exhibit space and securing sponsors.? The public can join AVANCE in unlocking America?s potential by registering for the conference at www.avanceconference.eventbrite.com.
